Wash the dishes after meals as soon as possible with a liquid dishwashing soap. This is to avoid further germ build-up on the kitchenware. Roaches and rats could potentially increase health risks. This is why cleaning the plates, spoons and forks as soon as after every meal is essential for germ protection.
Clean the refrigerator at least every 2 months. Germ buildup in the refrigerator may not be as fast as in the outdoors but it still can cause health risks such as food poisoning. Things common in home supplies like lemon mixed in lukewarm water can be used to clean it and at the same time eliminate bad odors. There are also  a variety of germ protection products that can  be used instead of the home-made alternative.

Wash hands thoroughly as they are easily exposed to germs. It would be good to wash them with an anti-bacterial soap using lukewarm water for optimal germ protection. Hand-Sanitizers can also help in eliminating most infections causing bacteria. Sanitizers can be very handy especially for people that eat or commute a lot as they usually come in pocket sizes for portability. Consumers can also make their own home made sanitizers should they so desire.

Sanitize hard surfaces like floors, desktops, tabletops, countertops and most especially the bathroom surface at least every 3 weeks. It would be best to use a mixture of a cleaning agent and a disinfectant to thoroughly clean and disinfect mentioned surfaces. This can also be applied to surfaces that are commonly used or touched.
Germ protection is important because staying healthy is not only practical but is actually a way of preserving both mind and body. By doing so, life can be enjoyed to the fullest without the constraints of illnesses. In order to do so, getting rid of germs should be done as often as possible. It is always good to  feel clean and safe around the house. Should one want to keep as clean as possible during travels, a good bath and a pocket size hand sanitizer may be able to do the trick.
